ISLAMABAD: As many as eight projects were approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) at a meeting with the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC), chaired by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan.
Besides the approved projects amounting to Rs31.44 billion, the CDWP recommended three others worth Rs40.22bn in the committee meeting with Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and senior officials from federal and provincial governments in attendance.
Physical Planning & Housing, Devolution and Area Development, Energy, Governance, Science & Technology, Transport & Communications, Water Resources were the areas in focus at the meeting.
In major projects, a scheme related to Physical Planning & Housing in Gilgit City valued at Rs3363.975 million was approved, while the “Baluchistan Livelihood Entrepreneurship Programme” worth Rs7900mn was also given the green signal.
Furthermore, the CDWP agreed to go ahead with two projects of Science & Technology titled “Establishment of a Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Health Science” worth Rs 321.450mn.
Meanwhile, a position paper on “Construction of Judicial and Administration Complex in Mauve Area, Islamabad” costing Rs 537.873mn was also passed.
