PESHAWAR: To initiate work on Peshawar Model Town project, the relevant authorities have been directed to complete procedures including land acquisition, consultancy, and engineering design by Chief Minister KPK Mahmood Khan.
The order was issued by CM KPK while chairing a meeting on the low-income housing project.
The announced 1,80,000-acre project will comprise of 23 zones, including education, medical and sports complexes and other allied facilities, and 81,000 residential plots of different sizes.
While briefing the meeting it was announced that the practical work on the project is scheduled to be launched by May 2021.
In addition, media enclave and public offices will also be set up under the project.
Out of the total land allotted, 5 per cent land will be reserved for commercial areas and parking spaces, 12 per cent for green spaces and parks, 23 per cent for roads, 8 per cent for public buildings and remaining for graveyards and other facilities.
The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Director-General Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Zafar Ali Shah and relevant officials of the Peshawar and Nowshera district.
