ISLAMABAD: To help resolve business disputes and promote and ensure the safety of small businesses, the government has planned to set up special commercial courts, announced Board of Investment Secretary Omer Rasul.
Resolving business issues will further help to improve the ranking for the World Bank Group’s Doing Business 2020 study, as commercial courts will help solve issues faster.
World Bank’s Country Director Illango Patchamuthu acknowledged the coordinated actions of the Federal government and provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab over the past year that helped improve the position of Pakistan.
By introducing reforms that helped to start a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, paying taxes and trading across borders, Pakistan made it to the list of top 10 countries that improved the most in three or more areas measured since the 2018-19 ranking.
