LAHORE: On the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore will construct two rainwater storages by next month to preserve the rainwater in Lahore.
As per the details, the rainwater storage will be developed at Kashmir Road nearby the LDA plaza while the second storage will be constructed outside Sheranwala Gate Circular Road.
The project is estimated to cost Rs240mn.
Furthermore, the storage at Kashmir Road will help to preserve 1.2mn gallons of rainwater whereas the storage outside Sheranwala gate will accommodate 1.5mn gallons of water.
The rainwater storages are being developed to preserve the rainwater so that it can be used for watering the plants in parks and other vicinities along with agriculture purposes. Moreover, rainwater storage will help to overcome the water crisis in the city.
